Over the past 24 months, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a key policy area for governments and a strategic focus for private enterprises. As AI becomes increasingly prominent in both government and private sectors, it is crucial for governments to take the lead in promoting Responsible AI. While there are legitimate concerns about the risks associated with AI advancements, there is also widespread recognition of its potential to revolutionize critical sectors such as health, education, energy, and the environment. Several countries, including the UK, Australia, Singapore, USA, and the European Union, have already taken proactive roles in shaping AI policies. They have learned from past experiences with the Internet and social media, making AI a transparent and collaborative process. For India, it is imperative not to let AI advancements slip away. To support the industry leadersers and Governments, we, as core practitioners in adopting AI in Healthcare, have developed an initial white paper titled "Promoting Responsible AI in Healthcare with AI Controls." . We firmly believe that our white paper can serve as a robust foundation f establish an AI assurance policy in healthcare and create a framework that governs AI usage across government, private, and educational institutions.
